Handing

Many functions require handing. Make sure you get it right for accurate ordering and installation.

What is Handing?

Handing is the direction the door swings or slides open.

Most INOX tubular leversets are field reversible, but some tubular functions, sliding door locks, and mortise locks need to be handed so that the lock works properly and set screws are not visible.

Here's a handy guide to determine your door's handing.

Swing Door Handing

From the outside of the room looking in, determine handing by which way the door swings. If it swings open to the left it is a left-handed (LH) door, and if to the right, it's right-handed (RH). If the door swings toward you, that's called a Reverse (LHR or RHR).

From the outside of the room looking in, determine handing by which way the door slides. For example, if it slides open to the left, it's left-handed (LH). Because sliding doors do not swing either in or out, there is no Reverse.
